Build Log: [ carfax / autocheck - build thread ] 04/25/10 - Purchased and transfered the title. 04/26/10 - Went to get it, towed it 75 miles home. It had been sitting for 7 years in the same garage without being started. 04/27/10 - Current Mileage: 121,560 04/27/10 - Removed all of the carpets and deep cleaned. Washed & Armor-All'd the entire car. 05/01/10 - Changed the oil & filter, Valvoline 10/50 Racing Oil & Mobil One filter. 05/01/10 - Flushed the radiator, master cylinder & washer fluid. 05/01/10 - Replaced Fuel pump & filter, got it to start and run. 05/02/10 - Replaced Spark Plugs & Distributor Cap and Rotor. 05/02/10 - Installed my Panasonic head unit & rewired the system. 05/06/10 - Installed MB 16x8 wheels and tires, removed Cragars for the time being due to tire dry-rott. 05/07/10 - Replaced front battery with new, Replaced rear battery with battery from my old truck. 05/07/10 - Replaced Master Cylinder and the ABS pump. 05/08/10 - Got insurance and got the inspection. Passed on first try. 05/30/10 - First road trip, San Antonio to Houston. Car did great. 06/10/10 - Converted the A/C system to R134A and charged it, works great. 06/15/10 - Replaced the (4) old Lanzar 12's (DVC 4 Ohm) with (2) new Kicker CompVR 12's (DVC 2 Ohm). 06/23/10 - Installed USB Hub/iPod Charger/Stinger voltmeter & added a relay for power. 06/24/10 - Removed Fog Light inserts for a much cleaner look. 07/02/10 - Replaced K1 transmission spring, filter & fluid. 07/03/10 - Replaced Radiator Cap & Thermostat, Filled with Prestone Anti-Freeze 60% & Water 40%. 07/09/10 - Repaired HVAC fan speed control switch. 07/14/10 - Made custom mount for Garmin Nuvi GPS. 07/15/10 - Installed Depo clear corners on the front. 07/16/10 - Replaced the electric antenna with custom made short fixed antenna. 07/29/10 - Sold the chrome MB Motoring 16" Wheels and tires back to the person I bought them from. Same price. 07/29/10 - Put the Cragar wheels back on with new 195/50R15's. Current mileage: 126,000 08/19/10 - Painted the Grille & Windshield Wiper assembly gloss black. 08/25/10 - Painted the Windshield Washer Nozzles & Horns gloss black. 08/25/10 - Radiator blew up. Belt tensioner broke in half. Ordered parts. 08/27/10 - Replaced the Drive Belt Tensioner and the Radiator. 08/27/10 - Current Mileage: 127,370 09/20/10 - Replaced the Inner Tie Rod End. Handles much better now and it's safer. 09/22/10 - Replaced the Front Brake Pads before they needed to be replaced. 09/22/10 - Current Mileage: 128,666 10/06/10 - Started paint work, handles first, then roof & related window trim. 10/07/10 - Kept painting, doing the trunk pieces and wiper system. 10/08/10 - Painted all of the trim and mirrors gloss black & clear coated them. 10/09/10 - Removed the Depo Clear corners and re-instaled the stock Bosch Ambers 10/23/10 - Repainted the front bumper because I hit a deer. It turned out good. 10/25/10 - Installed a 1993 console. 10/28/10 - Installed the new map pocket! Look's great and I have more places for my stuff! More info 11/02/10 - Replaced the brakes on the front. More info 11/03/10 - Just hit 130,000 miles. Runnin great and pullin strong. 11/11/10 - Cleaned the carpet and floor mats. Beautiful! Damaged the drive shaft and rear transmission yolk.- More info 02/10/11 - Flex disk repaired. Brake booster vacuum hose replaced. Shifting linkage replaced. Rear head rests accuired. More info. 02/11/11 - Replaced the old floor mats with some new genuine Mercedes Benz mats! They look and fit perfect! More info. 03/29/11 - Wired up the keyless entry to lock/unlock the doors. More info. 05/20/11 - Cracked the oil pan on the driveway at Walgreens. They've been doing road work. Patched it up with JB Weld. More info. 05/30/11 - When I repaired the oil pan before I didn't put the skid plate back on.. Bad idea.. The JB Weld held up very good until I hit something else. I replaced the oil pan this time and put a new (new used) skid plate on it to protect it. More info.
